The Process
Process is SO important and key to our success...
Team Oriented Design
We work as one team together; the architect, designer, landscaper, and construction team, to produce well thought out designs and details that most importantly feel like you (with a little designer magic thrown in).
Strong Communication
In every phase of the process, between all parties, open and respectful communication is our goal. We get it - you're coming to us because we've done this before. Construction speak can be confusing but we are your professional translators so you know just what you are getting the whole way through until your keys are in the door.

We want your home to feel like you so there are no "standard plans" to chose from. You are our inspiration and we will help you to select architectural design and layouts that fit YOUR life and style.
Conceptual & Schematic Design Phase
This is where your dreams begin...
Plan with our Lead Designer and Architectural Team, and Landscape Team to generate a seamless and stunning floor plan, including exterior and interior elevations, and exterior landscape design. This part can take time but no stone is unturned in this phase, we cover all the ground work and you meet with us regularly to make sure the dream we draw is YOUR dream enhanced!
Budget Phase
This is when the dream plan meets dollar sign. Here we meet with our construction team to get detailed numbers for your project. This can also take some time because we are covering all the bases so you know just how much your build may cost. We believe in accuracy in the estimations so there are limited surprises along the way. Then, we sit down with you to review how much your dream home is going to cost. Communication with our clients is of utmost importance and we do our best to make sure you are aware of where your money is going.
Permitting / Construction Phase
Yes, we are finally getting our hands dirty! Once the proper permits are received we will start your construction phase.
During your construction phase, we oversee and smooth out all the hiccups and bumps in the road so you don't have to. Our Design Team is always available and ready to make sure the design is implemented according to our vision. Luckily we are the design team so there is balanced communication between us and the Construction team lead by our seasoned construction manager who makes sure sub contractors are building according to plan, work is being done safely, and that the jobsite is clean.
Furniture, Finishes and Accessories Phase
As the project gets underway you will continue to work with our Design Team to select all finishes, furnishings, and accessories. While most of this is already been designed into your plan in the Conceptual and Schematic Phase, there may be small choices needed to be made along the way. The Design Team has got you! We will bring options to you and guide you in making the best choices all the way down to selecting the most ideal and appropriate finishing touches that make all those big choices look just stunning.
Landscaping Phase
Towards the end of construction phase, when all the big trucks are out of the way, we can begin your landscaping build out. There is no denying the fact that landscaping is a huge part of the curb appeal when you have your first guests to the house. This rounds out the full turn-key idea of nothing left to do once you move in.
Time to Move in!
This is the moment we've all been waiting for - moving in day! Because we have covered all your needs to build, design, furnish, and landscape there will be nothing left but to move in. (Not even the dusting!) Our design team once again will jump in to incorporate all your personal and cherished items into your new house so it feels like home.
Once you are settled in, we are ready to celebrate with you for your long awaited dream home is finally realized.

The Story
As a seasoned interior architect/designer and now founder of Oak & Elements, Caroline Barr has always given her clients a full service experience of working with an interior designer who caters to her clients own personalities, needs, and desires. She has over 12 years of experience working with many different contractors on many different types of build projects. What she noticed was that there is a gap between design and construction that needed to be more seamless. Over the years, Caroline has found herself taking on the management role of a job site in order to ensure the integrity of the design is fully brought to life. So, after several years of discussion and planning, Oak and Elements Design Build Co is a reality.
We offer our clients a completely custom experience from the very beginning to very end of their project. Beginning with the design, clients will work directly with the in-house architectural and interior design team to create a floor plan, exterior and interior design to suit the needs and wants of each individual client. All materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings will be custom curated by the design team for each individual client. (No cookies cutter homes here!)
Then, the design is reviewed and thoroughly discussed with our construction management team in order to seamlessly flow from design into construction.
Throughout each phase of design and construction, the client is kept informed along each step of the way with our proprietary process. Included in that process are clear budgets, schedules, and progress reports to name a few of the essentials elements we have carefully considered as important steps for the best results.
As you can see, we believe in seamless integration of design and construction. It is our goal to provide a different approach to the residential build process that makes all choices easy and fun for the client - construction doesn't have to be stressful!
